Family-Bed Education program approach is an innovation of Eden Centre to meet the urgent demand to support parent and children with disabilities from around the country especially in this dark period, failing state, situation. Currently millions and millions of parents and children with disabilities, more than 90% of them, were live around the country without accessing any services from related profession. Existing service centers are only available in few urban, about 80% of special schools are based in Yangon area. To wait for available of quality services by profession in every city of the country is, currently, un-imaginable. Meaning, in our country, we need to wait for decades to reach a situation like developed countries.
That’s why Eden Centre is innovating this “Family-Based Education (FBE)” program approach to equip parent of children with disabilities so that parent can maximize a potential of a child and enjoy a happy family wherever they live. This FBE program is accessible, simple and cost effective for every family with disabilities from everywhere.
Eden is training “Key Person’ to implement FBE program and Key person are supported by Technical Support team continuously to make sure the quality service. This FBE program team leader is Daw Aye Thida Hlaing, Physiotherapist. There are technical support Team (TST) which is composed with special education teachers, physiotherapists and social workers together with full time key persons.

Eden has developed a training package for ‘Key Person Training’ of FBE program. This training is a certificate course, 36 hours course. This training is a basic
course and this training contents include the Family-Based Education (FBE) concept, the process and matrix, the program, the approaches of the FBE, the forms, Key person role and responsibilities, technical support team role, documentation and record keeping, reporting of FBE program approach. The uniqueness of Family-Based Education (FBE) program approach and how this innovation was developed also include in the training.

o Strat FBE program and recruit full time staff
Since January 2025, we start recruit full time staff, Htay Nay Say, for the FBE program. We set target to admit at least 100 clients in the year 2025. This first implementing FBE program was financially funded by our partner ‘Silver Lining Foundation (SLF)’. The fist Key Person was recruited in January, 2025 and the second Key Person, (Htet Htet), was recruited in August, 2025.
